• What We Do

Between Borders is a non-profit practitioner-led research organisation that focuses on human insecurity, forced displacement and MHPSS (mental health and psychosocial support.) As a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary organisation, we highlight displacement caused by conflict/fragility, climate change, natural disasters, and development, as well as human insecurity caused by social, political, or urban violence.

We are a global platform for knowledge sharing, innovative thinking, and collaborative partnerships.

Our aim is to highlight and mainstream MHPSS-related concerns, challenges, and solutions into humanitarian and fragile contexts.

We create an open space for dialogue and deliver cutting-edge research, influenced and led by the voices and stories of those displaced by crises (internally displaced persons, asylum seekers, refugees, and stateless) and those that remain at the epicentre of violence and insecurity.

Our in-country programmes and projects are directly shaped and designed by our research to ensure, as evidentially as we can, the most appropriate, ethical, and context-based MHPSS interventions.

We are extremely grateful to all our partners, writers, and creatives, whose work has been published and showcased on Between Borders.
